Great thread, thank you. Planning our trip to Hawaii for this month (better late than never) Trying to decide, Maui or Big Island?
Reading all about this food makes me want to definitely go to the Big Island - I want an acai bowl for sure and my partner would very much enjoy the hunt for the best mai tai or whatever it was, margarita? haha

what kind of tea are you drinking? crazy that you still haven't locked in islands or lodging! yet you are concerned about packing!!! LOL
Big Island for us is a cooking and hibernating at night watching the sunset with an adult beverage destination. (watching the evening news to learn how to pronounce places/words) Maui is more of a go out and dine destination with many exceptional restaurants at all price points.

Just reporting back that we did order some beef jerky from Barefoot Farms and it is amazing and worth every penny. Not a bad tariff on postage.
