Anyone have an opinion on best farmers markets on Oahu and Kauai, we have rented a house on both and would like to get some fresh island produce and whatever else fresh the may sell, as we plan on doing 50% of eating in(do they sell fresh fish at these) or where would be the best place to purchase fish? Thanks

I'm not sure about Kauai, but one of the best Farmer's Markets on Oahu takes place every Saturday from about 8-1 at Kapiolani Community College (Diamond Head Campus). You can't miss it--just drive around Diamond Head and you'll see a huge crowd.

I have never seen fish sold at this market; for that you could just go to Chinatown (another good place for fresh produce). For fish, I just go to the grocery store, myself!

On Oahu:

Chinatown open markets for vegetables, fruits, fish, etc. I don't know how fresh the fish is.

Kam Super Swap Meet - This is just past Pearlrige Center in Aiea. Open Wed, Sat, Sun. They also have vegetables, fruits, fish. This is not the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet. It is in the general area.

The list is good. But, I don't think they keep up with any changes.

I use the one in Mililani a lot. It was changed to Sundays almost a year ago. It still shows up as Saturday on the list.

We shopped at the one in Hanalei. We bought tasty and delicious pineapples, bananas, papayas, mangos and star fruit. The flowers were plentiful and cheap. Here is a link to the Kaua'i markets.

Thanks for the help, your list helped a lot. I had read somewhere else that the Mililani one was on Sundays so thanks for confirming that, do you know dusty if it is from 11am or until noon, saw two different times and wanted to go when our plane landed around 9:30am, but by time we get luggage and rental car 11am would be cutting it real close Thanks Again

The one in Mililani is from 8am to noon on Sundays. I go to that one because I live in Mililani. It is not very big compared to others.

I only brought that one up as an example that the list may not be accurate.

Your best choices are Chinatown (I think they are open on Sundays) if you are headed toward Waikiki or Kam Swap Meet if you are headed west. Kam Swap Meet is open until 3pm.
