I'm going to "third" NeoPatrick's suggestion for Virgil's BBQ. It's kitschy, but in a fun way, and the ribs are tasty. It's not food-snob-friendly, but there are definitely days where I "must eat" their pulled pork nachos.

Last time I was at Virgil's (in June) I finally ordered their BarBQ Lamb. Wow, was THAT good!

Keen's is a terrific steakhouse not far from TS (nearish Macy's) that has a more affordable pub menu. http://www.keens.com/pubmenu.html

If you like pasta, how about Becco's on 46th St? Unlimited pasta of the day (3 choices) plus unlimited salad -- $22 for dinner, cheaper for lunch.

We ended up going to Juniors. It was very good food for very reasonable prices. I had the baked macaroni and cheese and chicken fingers (in the mood for comfort food that day) and both were very tasty. My husband had the burger and he really liked that. They have a wide variety on their menu which was nice. The cheesecake was of course delicious!! I ordered a mini cheesecake from the bakery next door (our waitress picked it up for me) and I ate it on the train ride home.
