Murphys CA restaurants

Any good restaurants for a Saturday night dinner in Murphys?? Winery suggestions for the area? Anyone stayed at the motel annex to the Murphys Historic Hotel? Going next Sat. 1/20.
Thanks!

In case a local doesn't reply, the AAA Guide gives three diamonds to Auburge 1899 restaurant..."wonderful French dining with fine wines"...they say.

Have a good trip.

This place in Plymouth is wonderful! http://www.restauranttaste.com/ It isn't in Murphy's but not that far.

As for wineries -- W/i a 5 mile loop of Plymouth are mare than 35 wineries. Just take Shenandoah road or Steiner rd and you will pass most of the good ones.

http://www.amadorwine.com/ is a good link for touring the wineries.

The restaurant Janisj speaks of, Taste, is wonderful. However, Plymouth is about an hour drive from Murphys. An hour of fairly narrow, windy roads.

Wound up having dinner at the restaurant at the Murphys Hotel. Wonderful food although the waiter stiffed my friend on the tip. We both had the lamb shank with delicious creamy polenta. Good breakfast too - blueberry pancakes.
