Where should we have dinner in Mt. Shasta? We want a casual place that serves wine and where entrees are mostly $10-$20. Lily's sounds like a good place. Is there a better choice?

We were in Mt. Shasta last June. Our first night, some guys staying next to us recommended an Italian place called Piemonte. Not the kind of food I like. Old fashioned Italian-American fare: heavy, quantity not quality. But they made a great Kamakazi. In fact, I had 2 .

Another afternoon, we were too late for lunch but too early for dinner at Lily's, so had the limited menu. It was good for the $$. Nice service and cozy.

I can't personally give any other recs. Sorry.

LOL my DH grew up in Mt Shasta & his parents still live there. The Piemont is an old family favorite but I do get the old fashioned aspect.


Mt Shasta is a pretty casual place but thre are some bay area influences in the dining which creates a pretty interesting mix.

I like Lily's for brunch. Haven't eaten dinner there.

Had to laugh about the Piemont . . . I'd swear it has been there longer than the mountain itself.

I live 200+ miles away but have probably eaten at the Piemont (or Mike and Tony's - just up the street and even older) more times than many of my favorites at home. Most of my relatives live in/near Mt Shasta (I was born in Dunsmuir) and for years and years and years whenever visiting, we'd all have dinner at least once at either the Piemont or Mike and Tony's . They like their Italian family style in Mt Shasta

Janisj, LOL Mike and Tony's! Too much food and not what it once was before it changed hands. Very much like Piemont. Went there for dinner after a reception my inlaw threw for us after our wedding and I thought I had never seen so much food in my life.

DH's HS sport pics are hanging in the Black Bear Diner (in the hall on the way to the bathroom). Kids howl with laughter every time they see those. Mt Shasta is a really small town.
