Moving to Charleston

I may be moving to Charleston SC in the next 2 months and I have a few questions. 1) what can i expect to pay in rent, If i move i will be working in North Charleston, and would like to live in that area, unless I can move to a beach community. 2) what are the winters and summers like? 3) What would be concidered a Good/ average salery for that area? 4) I will most likely be buy a house with in the next two years, how is the housing market in that area? I will be moving from western Pa and am a little worried about the change in culture, are southerners really different then northerners?

1) What size appartment? How far from the beach?

2) Winters are mild Summers are very hot, very humid, and very sticky. Plan on summer from May through October.

3) What do you mean by good/average? For how many people?

4) Booming.

5) I don't know because as a southerner I've never lived up north.
