Morro Bay or Pismo beach or San Luis Obisbo

Where would you stay if you had one night and on the way to San Francisco? What is the best place in each of the above cities? 4 or 5 star quality, on the beach , and nice and romantic. Price is no object, and we just like walking on the beach and relaxing?

Pismo Beach is the only place you mention that really has a beach. Morro Bay is more a quaint fishing village than a beach town. If you opt for Pismo Beach I'd say the best places are: Sea Venture Inn, Cliff's Resort or Sandcastle Inn.
In Morro Bay the Inn at Morro Bay is quite nice and is next to a state park and bird sanctuary. Also in Morro Bay is the Embarcadero Inn which is right in the main area on the waterfront.
San Luis Obispo is a great town but is inland. The previously mentioned Apple Farm would be a choice or Petit Soliel is a recently opened European-style inn and the Garden Street Inn is a very nice bed and breakfast with a great downtown location.

Morro Bay has a nice surfing beach just north of the Rock. Some pro competitions are held there, and I just found some great pictures on the web: http://www.pbase.com/roberthouse/storm .

I have stayed at the Inn at Morro Bay was very nice has great bay views but no beach You can drive out to Morro rock in about 5 min. and there a nice beach there. Morro Bay is a very nice coastal town that is where I have stayed and would go back.

Have Fun
