This is mainly for Ms griswold. If you want the best ocean view in the area go up the coast to Cayucos and get a room here http://www.centralcoast.com/ShorelineInn/
It is nothing fancy but it is right on the beach. We stay there every year. In fact we will be there at the end of march for 3 nights. You can walk to dinner at Hoppe's or the Pier cafe
