More N.Y. ???

Going to Harlem for the afternoon & are looking for restaurant suggestions. Any opions on Melba's or Slyvia's ? Open to any suggestions ... Thanks

Sylvia's is just ok, but Red Rooster (a block or two south) is truly fabulous (though much harder to get into ... though I'd think lunch would be much easier).

Sylvia's has a reputation as a tourist trap, and my experience eating there was really lousy -- can't recommend the place.

I'd opt for Amy Ruth's (get fill-in-the-blank and waffles here) or Miss Mamie's Spoonbread Too. Liked both very much when I went.
