Animal ID Experts - any idea what this is?
I'm in the process of going through our pictures from our recent trip to Kenya and came across this one - can't find it in any of my books though - so I thought I would ask the experts.

It was taken at Sweetwaters.

I concur. Very common is the US and introduced in Africa for fur.

I agree, nutria, which is also an introduced invasive in USA orginally imported for fur. Native to South America.

Thanks!. All I could come up with was "giant river rat" or "rodent of unusual size".
