My family stayed at the Bahia last January. The Bahia is well managed, has a beautiful pool area, and is centrally located. We were automatically upgraded to a bay view studio with a full kitchen. Be sure and eat at Nick's at the Beach, a great local neighborhood restaurant, which the hotel recommended. I don't know anything about Beach Haven Inn.

Thanks Down South, will I need a car to get to the beach from Bahia? I know it's near the bay but I would like to stay on the beach. Do you know any information for: Best Western Blue Sea Lodge, Catamaran Resort, Pacific Terrace Hotel or Surfer Motor Lodge.

You won't need a car to get to the Beach from the Bahia. It's down the street.
The Catamaran is owned by the same company and is closer to the beach. I prefer it to the Bahia personally.
The Best Western is on the beach I believe but not sure if you can get a room if you aren't booking early.
I've seen good things about the Pacific Terrace on this website (try a search)
I believe the others are standard older motels, but am not sure.
For what it's worth - I live in pacific Beach so many of these places I pass every day, and I've had family stay at a few of them.
