mirage vs mgm

have 2 tweeners going to vegas and debating between mgm and mirage. 1 review said mgm more family friendly, but mirage has nicer pool and seems to be more accessible to other hotels. any suggestions?

I like the MGM. It's close to everything I like to walk to such as M&M world, the trams and other hotels. New York, New York. I love seeing the lions and having our photos made with the lion. The Rainforest Cafe.

MGM is much better, great pool with a lazy winding river. Lots of interesting properties that teens would love around MgM.

I would disagree that the MGM is "much better".
Mirage's pool is defintely nicer and location of Mirage is much closer to the best part of the strip. Room comparison dependson which MGM room category you're looking at, some are better than Mirage standard rooms, some worse. MGM is a lot more of a pain to get into and out of since it's the largest hotel in the USA.

Can't really go wrong at either, the 5 pool complex at MGM is nothing to sneeze at. Stay away from the "Emerald Tower" rooms at MGM as they are small and poorly located.
Mirage is a bit more adult oriented.

We've stayed at both. We stayed at the Mirage without kids and the MGM with kids- teens in fact. I think that the MGM is much better with kids. The pool area is great with the lazy river. There is also a food court that my kids loved. Both hotels are very nice though.

We decided on the MGM for our trip next month with two 16 year-olds and an 11 year old. Our reasons were price, pools, and proximity to GameWorks. Location on the strip is a toss-up IMO; they're both good.
