Miller's Landing community

Has anyone stayed in any of the lodging cabins at Miller's Landing? We have rented one cabin from a local artist and we're hearing negative things about the whole Miller's Landing area. I would like some insight into what the area is like. Any help? Thanks.

Frankly the area is a dump. Don't expect a "pristine" cabin in the woods. All the way out there, discarded items rusting everywhere, run down etc.

I was going to stay at Miller's Landing in a romantic cabin on the beach but posted before confirming reservation. BudgetQueen told me it was a dump and I thank you from the bottom of my heart BudgetQueen! We rode down to see what the whole area was like and she was right!!! What a dump! The road is muddy, trash and junk everywhere--just dumpy! I met a lady that had the same idea as I did and she confirmed the cabin was not what she expected either. You won't be sorry that you listen to the postings! We stayed at the Harborview Inn and it was very clean, nice and comfortable. I saw the standard room and it was nice. We stayed in the suite with the fireplace which we loved. It was our 25th anniversary trip! Do drive down to Lowell point and walk to the beach. It is peaceful and beautiful but steer clear of Miller's Landing!!

What state Miller's Landing is chelsea asking about. There is one in Alaska and one in California.

Sometimes it pays to listen to first hand information. (only being factual, certainly not popular )

Glad everything worked out for you on your "dream" vacation. Isn't Alaska paradise???

Yes, BudgetQueen, Alaska is paradise. We also followed your advice to eat at Gwin's (1/2 hr-45 wait) and the salmon chowder was divine! You give good advice and I appreciate you and all the others that took the time to answer my questions while I was planning! We didn't want to leave Alaska--but life called us back!
Our vacation was perfect. I thank you again for shooting straight from the hip when answering.
I will try and post a trip report soon.
