Midtown restaurant for lunch
My wife and I will be in NYC over Memorial Day weekend and are meeting an old friend for lunch next Friday. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a good lunch restaurant with good by the glass wine list in the vicinity of the Park Central Hotel?
Our preference is Italian but any good suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm guessing, samschack, that you're having trouble finding your previous posts. You asked this question about 10 hours earlier yesterday and already received a number of responses, but you posted again last night.
When you come to the US talk board, just click on your screen name next to the "welcome" in the upper left hand corner of the screen and it will bring up all your former posts. No need to repost the same question.

Remi certainly fits the bill. San Domenico is another Italian that would be close (Central Park South) with a great prix fixe lunch for $29.50. They're known for an extensive wine list but can't remember if offerings by the glass are also plentiful. Here's a link to their menu (doesn't have the wine list)

I should mention that both of these are normally a bit formal at lunch. Given the neighborhood, they get a lot of business lunches. On a Fri. of a holiday weekend, it might be a bit less formal. Trattoria Dell 'Arte is in the neighborhood (7th & 56 st) with good food and a bit more relaxed. Not sure how extensive their wine list is though.
But if you're looking for a fun, relaxing time where the wine and talk are important but the food can be casual, I'd head downtown to Otto at
1 Fifth Ave. in the village

Thanks for the tips. Remi sounds wonderful but since we are on vacation we might not be prepared to have lunch at any place too formal but I'll definitely check out Trattoria Dell'Arte. Patrick, thank you too. I am somewhat "computerally" challenged and did not realize that my earlier request had been posted. I'll try to find the other post and get those responses as well.
