Mid Atlantic Weekend Getaway
I'm taking my husband away for the weekend in September. We live in Baltimore and I don't want to drive more than 3-5 hours.
Any ideas of a town that I just have to visit?
We have already covered DC, Philly, New York City, Cape May and Williamsburg. I'm looking for that little out of the way spot where we can have a relaxing couple of days.
Any Ideas?

Yes. I also live in Balto. My husband and I love going to Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. Only about 2 hr. away. A very nice little town. An "artist" town with some galleries, antigue shopping and home of the countries first spa. Google Berkeley Springs, W.V There is also Cacapon State Park (they have a lodge) 10 miles down the road. Google that also. If you like what you see, I can give you tons of info. We've been going there for years.

Lewes, DE. It's every bit as charming as it was when we first went there 30-odd years ago. Though, admittedly, it's considerably more expensive....
Chincoteague, VA. A charm all its own, and a great park.

Lewisberg WV. It has been written up in the New York Times and the Washington Post. It is near the Greenbriar. Make sure to tour the bunker at Greenbrier. Can only do this on Wed and Sunday if you are not staying at Greenbriar.
