Michigan Ave with Disabilities
My 85 year old mother wants to do a Michigan Ave shopping trip. It's a chartered bus trip, so we have basically a half day on our own. My mom can walk, but I am concerned about how much she can take in, especially with 2 knee trpacements. We are going 11/17. I would like to do something special where she can be off her feet. I was looking for a matinee, but couldn't find anything. Thought about the Walnut Room, but their online reservations is showing it's sold out. Any suggestions to do something special and provide a break from shopping?

I expect we will be taking public transportation to get around the Michigan Avenue area. I am more interested in special events or places to rest our feet. I just found the Holiday Tea at the Drake, which sounds perfect.
The bus drops us off near the Water Tower around 10AM. We most likely will do shopping there first and grab lunch. Any recommendations for lunch nearby?
