miami south beach courtyard

Does anyone have any firsthand information on the newly opened Marriott courtyard hotel in south Beach? Is it a good choice re:location for a short family stay in south beach? Does it look nice or very business oriented?

Family in South Beach??IMHO, I would suggest not.SoBe is very crowded and hopelessly expensive.Yes, I know I know--every time I say that I get clobbered. There are places to eat that DONT cost an arm and a leg.But if ya gots kids in tow,who has time to look at a map??No hotel in SoBe caters to business travellers. And its a great area if you like that kinda thing.I love the place, but I know what to expect. And to me I think a family wud feel way outa place.

Rocky is correct, not a good place to bring kids, best suited for adult playtime.

But Rocky I would difer with you about business, Sobe is becoming the place to stay for the business jetsetters. I have noticed in the last 2 years, that the business execs all want to stay on the beach now, so they can play after hours.

I' sure their wives have no idea what goes on at the beach! ha !

Go to Ft. Lauderdale, it is more suited for families or even a bit farther up the coast. Besides the south beach area is a topless bach, you might not want your kidies viewing that.

O.K. now I need help!! We are vacationing in Fort Lauderdale for the week. Our air transportation could only get us in and out of Miami. We have essentially a day and a half and I thought Miami would be a fun, diverse, city experience for all of us. The kids are 14 and 11.What do you think?

If the 14 year old is a boy, he will probably love the topless girls ! ha

I did not realize that you were in FT.Lauderdale for the week.

2 options,

South Beach is only 40 minutes down I95 so why not just make it a day trip?

But if you really want to move hotels, the Mar. Court is as good as any. Also check out Rooney Plaza it is on the north side of SOBE and is on a nice section of the beach.

Take the family to Davids Cafe on Lincoln Rd for 4 it will be under a $100 bucks, and cuban is delicious.

If the kids are into rollerbaldes you can rent them on Lincoln rd and skate along with you while you browse the shops. Lincoln rd is kind of a Venice Beach pedestrian mall, total mix of people including kids in tow.
