You can't beat the great midtown location on Lexington Avenue around 50th Street. It is on hotel row, just a block or two from the Waldorf, W, Intercontinential, and Marriott hotels. As you mentioned it was a Loews hotel and was renovated about 2 years ago into the Metropolitan. I can't speak about the rooms, but the lobby looks pleasant and they seem to have a good coffee shop fronting Lexington Avenue. It's not a 5 Star hotel but more like a 3+ to 4 Star. Hopefully someone who has stayed their recently can give more specifics. Also do a search on this forum, the hotel has been discussed previously.

Frank's description is accurate. Not a great hotel but good and solid.

Agreed. I've put people there a couple of times and seen the rooms. Average size etc. Great location certainly -- the 6 subway is right there on the corner of 51st next to the coffee shop. In fact, I'm heading there right now for a midtown lunch (at BELLINI on East 52nd -- Fantastic Italian food).

Thank you for the prompt replies. Feel more confident to go ahead and make final plans. Great hearing it is so centrally located and that you all approve. Many thanks....Mary
