Meds & Makeup in Same Ziploc?
One question I have not asked, nor seen a response to.
I have quite a few prescription meds I will be taking IN THE ORIGINAL BOTTLE with label, etc;
1) Must I put those pill bottles in the same Ziploc baggie with the deoderant, toothbrush?
1a) or can the meds, in their bottles, just go in my carry-on?
2) Also, does makeup have to go in the one Ziploc also?
(Makeup I have is limited to eyeliner pencil and a small jar or lipgloss).
Thanks.

Amy, the only thing that must be in the ziploc is a liquid or gel. I do not put my solid deodorant (roll on would be different as that is a gel/liquid), meds or any kind of powder make-up, such as compacts, eye shadow or blush that is in a compact into the bag. This means that you really have more space in the bag than would appear at first blush.

Your 1-quart ziplock for security purposes *only* needs anything in it that can be considered a liquid or gel.
Prescriptions medications, toothbrush, deodorant, eyeliner pencil are therefore NOT in this category. I *do* in fact use ziplocks for everything just to keep it organized at a glance, but that is my choice. You could use a normal cosmetic tote for all these items just as well.

As others have said, for security purposes, the meds and make up (non-liquid) don't have to be in the ziplock. I do put meds in a seperate ziplock to keep them contained and for convinience should a security person want to inspect them for some reason. I use ziplocks a lot for organizing items for travel.

Especially traveling carry-on only, I think it's handy to put things like underwear, socks, small loose items into various sized ziplocks too. Depending on how thoroughly they decide to hand-search your suitcase, this helps keep things neat and clean and easy to repack, if that happens to happen to you.

Thank you all so very much!
Reason I was confused is because, in the past, in order to expedite moving through TSA and for practical reasons, I put everything in a see through bag (meds, makeup, liquids, etc; (even my camera). So, I couldn't remember what was actually REQUIRED. LOL
Thank you again.

What constitutes a gel or liquid to the TSA. Here is their response:
If you can pour it, pump it, squeeze it, spread it, smear it, spray it or spill it.
