Meal & snack on ATA to Hawaii--nice surprise!
I don't know if ATA's other flights have this, but yesterday I flew home to Honolulu from San Francisco and it included a meal and 2 small snacks. The meal was pasta or chicken, and although it was TV dinnerish, it was actually pretty decent (not rancid like the Delta flight I recently took). The first snack was macadamia nuts, of course. Promptly after the movie was done, the flight attendants distributed full single servings of Blue Bunny raspberry sorbet! What a nice touch! The delighted looks on everyone's faces clearly showed that it was a nice surprise that gave ATA a little "wow" factor. I'm guessing that Pleasant Hawaiian (the tour company) may have sponsored all or part of that sorbet, but it was still pretty good considering ATA is supposed to be a budget airline. Anyone else experience this on other ATA flights?

We went from Denver to Maui on ATA in June (for less than $475 RT--beat that with a stick!) and were delighted by the cordial crew and hot food plus snacks--someone on the plane told us that they had gone to Hawaii on United, and got no food! We had been on ATA 10 yrs previous and had a pretty good experience, but this last one was just plain relaxing. I guess I should have complimented the crew and/or ATA, but didn't think of it, alas.

aw shucks! No, I did not get to encounter any fodorites. I was there as a wedding coordinator so it was pretty much a working trip. However, the Hawaii Fodorites are planning to hook up with the Kals in December!!
