Meadowlands Accomodations Needed

Hi All.

First...yes, I have looked at previous threads and have not found what I need.

Myself and my 2 boys (8 and 12) are heading to the Meadowlands in March 2004 for the NCAA East Regional Basketball Finals. We will arrive on Thu 3/25 and leave on Sun 3/28. We don't plan on doing any NYC sightseeing since it will be all about hoop on Thu and Sat. We will probably want to relax on Friday around the hotel. I am looking for a very nice place with spacious rooms and an indoor pool. We may head into the city, but the primary focus is the games so proximity to Continental Arena is important as is the comfort level of the hotel since my kiddos like chilling around nice hotels. I appreciate any and all help. The rates look very reasonable.

Jay

There's a Radisson in the Meadowlands (just check radisson.com) as well as a Renaissance Meadowlands (check marriott.com). Both should be fine for your needs, you can check the websites for more info, and both are very close to the arena.

PLENTY of hotels in the area!

Meadowlands Sheraton is one of the nicest and very close to Meadowlands (if you don't mind some rough terrain to avoid crossing the highway, you an actually walk there). Next to the Sheraton is a fairly new Homestead Suites.

On the ohter side of the arena is a Hampton Inn which would be very walkable (but not as nice as the Sheraton mentioned above) and down the road from there is a Fairfield Inn (maybe a mile or so, so a bit of a 'hike', maybe take 15 minutes walking along a highway, but there is a grass area next to the highway to walk on)

Nearby but not walkable are the Radisson, an Embassy Suites, a Red Roof Inn, as well as a Crowne Plaza.

Hope that helps.

Correction on the above, i think the hotel next to the Sheraton is a Homewood Suites (although there is a Homestead Suites further up the road)

One last try...I have it narrowed down to a handful based on the need for an indoor pool, price and availability. Any opinions to help would be welcome.

Renaissance Meadowlands - $103
Courtyard by Marriott, Lyndhurst - $89
Hilton Garden, Secaucus - $125
Sheraton Meadowlands - $142
Sheraton Suites, Weehawken - $144

Thanks
