maui zip line

Can anyone recommend a zip line in Maui? I have read about a recreation centre near Kanapaali - any comments? Would this activity be suitable for kids aged 12 and 15 ?

I have not done a zipline on Maui but I have elsewhere. I am in my 30s and loved it. REALLY loved it. There was a boy in our group when I went in Belize who was 11 and he had a great time (thought his mom didn't enjoy it as much).

We just booked with Skyline Aventure on Maui and they have a weight requirement of 80lbs and an age requirement of 10. I would think these numbers are probably standard so if your kids are in that range go for it.

We did this with our daughter this past June in Colorado. This place had 22 ziplines. Our daughter was 13. Fantastic. Our scenery was great and even included 4 or 5 zips across the river. I would imagine that the scenery in Hawaii, would be even better. The first zip was the scariest. It was the slowest, shortest, and least in height. They start you out slow and work you up. Once you have done one, it is nothing but pure fun. Be sure and ask if you can hang upside down, as my daughter did that on nearly every single line. They let us ride one line together. Very good, very safe. almost too safe.

We had the most fun on the Kapalua Adventures ziplines, which they say are the longest in the U.S. There are others I understand, and I can't speak for them, but the Kapalua lines were wonderful.

You have a choice of lines on the upper mountain or lower mountain. These lines have a "spring loaded" brake system.

Here's the website: http://www.kapalua.com/adventures/on...post/zip-lines
