Maui top things to do/best places to eat??
My husband will be taking our first trip to Maui at the end of April and wanted to know the top things to do and the best places to eat? Should we make reservations for any of these before hand?

Make reservations for the Old Lahaina Luau or the Feast at Lele before you go.
I also recommend Mama's Fish House and Sansei if you like sushi.
The road to Hana is fun. But leave early and stop often. If you leave early enough (we left around 6:30 in the morning), you'll stay ahead of the traffic all day. The hike to the big waterfall at the Seven Pools is awesome. The name of the falls is slipping my mind right now.
Snorkeling at Molokini is great. We booked an excursion at our hotel when we got there.

Definitely make reservations, and enjoy Maui!
Feast of Lele in Lahaina is wonderful. Type in "Feast of Lele" into the search box and read my trip report on it for more info.
Mama's Fish House is excellent and very romantic; you definitely need a reservation for dinner, and maybe for lunch too! Go for lunch or an early dinner so that there is enough light to see the beautiful setting on a picturesque beach!
Stay at least 2 nights in Hana and get up very early to explore the beautiful sights nearby and beat the day-tripper crowds.
Have fun!

Other than the Luau at Old Lahaina Luau, you don't need to make dinner reservations before you get there. If you are at a hotel/resosrt the concierge can make all your reservations when you get there. Otherwise just make them yourself when you arrive, but not necessary to do it so far in advance.
