Maui or Big Island?

Can't decide between Maui or the Big Island for late June vacation. Anyone want to offer some pro/cons for each?

I like the Big Island. It's big. Has Volcanoes. Diverse. A lot to see.

Maui is beautiful! There is plenty to do... SUnrise on Haleakala, Lahaina, and the Road to Hana just to name a few things.
We did not make it to the Big Island but Maui was wonderful.

We've been to both - on two separate trips. I'd say it depends on your personality. If you like a lot of diversity, adventure, volcanoes, etc. then hit the Big Island. If you like something more posh and sophisticated with a lot of fine dining, etc. then Maui. We loved both, but they felt like completely different experiences; you could have a great time on either one.

Or, if you like posh, do the Four Seasons on the Big Island. The best of BOTH worlds!

Normally i would say Maui.

But, Maui is more crowded in the summer, so Big Island would be my choice.

Maui mo'bettah!

Maui may not have an active volcano, but Maui is every bit as diverse as the BI.

I think the beaches on Maui are far superior to those on the BI.

I have not been snorkeling at the BI in many years, but many say that the snorkeling is better on the BI.

There are some spectacular restaurants on Maui offering everything from classic french to seafood.

Maui seemed more expensive to us than the Big Island - is it just me? How many days do you have for your vacation? They would be a nice complement to each other if you could do both.
