Maui Hotel Help

My DH and I will be in Maui for 4 nights the first week of September. I am trying to book a hotel and I was hoping to get some direction.

We are looking to spend about $350 per night. We would like to stay somewhere that has a nice pool/bar. I am probably leaning towards staying in the Kaanapali area. Wailea sounds great too but I think my DH wants to be closer to the action. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks
Lori

I would pick the Maui Hyatt. Beautiful hotel, nice location, great pool and great poolside service.

I stayed at the Hyatt years ago and enjoyed it - especially the pool. Then, we moved down the road a bit to the Maui Prince and really enjoyed the beach (and golf) at Makena.

If pool/bar is important to you, the Hyatt is a great choice.

If gardens, atmosphere, pool and bar are important, pick the Hyatt. If you are looking for a good beach, pick the Sheraton.

Family member recently came back from a beautiful vacation in Maui Lori. They stayed at the Maui Sheraton and loved it so much they are returning after the holidays. They are into snorkling, kayaking etc but they also love pools and having a nice bar etc. They did rent a Jeep for their time there so they were able to easily get around the island.

We loved the Sheraton. Good location, great beach & pool, fabulous breakfast buffet, clean & a nice staff of people that love to help.
