maui accommodation
Traveling from Wales UK, spending 8 days in Maui in late feb. looking for moderate priced accommodation, hotel, condo, within walking distance from restaurants, pubs, shops. Places to see? Do? Somewhere to 'chill out'?

Aloha, George. We stayed in a unit of the Puamana condos located immediately next to the town of Lahaina.

These are individually owned units. The one we rented had a loft which had three beds, a full kitchen, master bedroom with large king bed and bath, full laundry, patio, a living room/dining room combo, a full second bath. It was airconditioned, free parking and a gated community. Although our unit was not oceanfront, many are, we could walk in two minutes to the ocean. There are three pools on site, one adults only. I loved going up to the clubhouse area at sunset with a bottle of wine, we would sit, watch the whales play in the channel and the sunset over the other islands on the horizon. It was enough away from the hubbub that we could relax and close enough for us to get to shops, restaurants, etc with no problem. Easy walk into Lahaina on those nights when driving would have been ill advised. It was a gorgeous wonderful place and we paid around $200 per night. Enjoy your trip.
