Marco Island Beach Replenishment
I'm hoping that someone has information on the status of the work. We are coming into Marco on Nov 15 to 29 and currently have a condo booked on the south end of the beach. It sounds like the work is 24/7 and could be a problem for sleeping and beach use. Any further information would be great.
Thank you.
Thank you.

We jsut returned from a week at Marco.
Our condo is two north of the Marriott.
They were doing construction at the Mariott and I would not want to stay there, but I don't think other construction will bother you. They are
working on Collier Blvd. and you have to
make some detours, but it is not a big
problem.
We tried a new restuarant, Sasso's-it is
very good.

For NLG - Thanks for your note - where is Sasso's and what type of food do they serve.
In case anyone else is interested I did get information on this project. It started on Nov 1 and is still in the set up phase. The project centers around Cape Marco where they plan to extend the beach by 75 ft out to the first jetty. After that is completed they will be moving up the beach to the Hilton extending the pipe up the beach to add more depth to that stretch of the beach. There is also a regrading project from Tigertail to the Hilton to slope the beach toward the gulf to reduce the pooling of water on the beach. The replenishment project is scheduled for 24/7 to get it completed as quickly and inexpensively as possible. They expect the project to be completed by the start of the high season in January.

Sasso's address is 961 Winterberry Dr.
Phone 239 393 4960. It is listed as
International and Seafood. We had the
Lobster Purse and stuffed grouper-very good. If you know where Cathy O'Clarks
is-Sasso's is across the street from there. It used to be a German restaurant.

They will be regrading the beach from Tigertail down to the Hilton at some time before the end of the year but I don't know when. When we checked there was no set date for that part of the work. If I learn anything while I am there I will repost.
