Marco Is.,Florida--Need condo

Hi. We're going to Marco Island for 3 weeks end of Feb.& need a 1 BR condo on the beach or bayside. Most of the condos on the net are already booked & the prices are so high! Does anyone know of a good realty company we can deal with directly? Other suggestions for reserch sites? Is it too risky to go down without a reservation? We've been to Siesta Key---will we be disappointed in Marco Island? What will the temperature be in late Feb., early March. Thanks in advance for any help.

the problem is a beachfront condo is worth at least half a million dollars. if you owned one how cheaply would you rent if for the busiest month of the entire year especially when it's difficult to rent at all for about 9 months of the year? have you looked at vrbo

Hi canada1,

Try http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?brd=2256 it is the local newspaper, click on classifieds and then condo rentals.

I don't know Siesta Key specifically, but I do think you will find the life style much different Marco verses any Key. Key life=laid back, Marco life=mucho upscale, wealthy snowbird oriented.

If you want beach access, find out if your condo has a pass for the residence beach. Nice, and right in the middle of town. Nature? Collier Seminole State Park right next door.

Enjoy!

We've been going down to Marco for many years,May is our favorite time.Try Harborview Rentals.Only 3 or 4 beachfront condos do weekly rentals so you may be too late. I would not go to Marco in Feb.without a reservation.
Good Luck.

canada, My parents lived on Marco for a couple of years, and finding anything at a good price this late will be a miracle. 3 weeks? That's a long stay there. Marco gets pretty crowded with cars- you can barely get around at times. How about doing a week there in a hotel, then doing a week at Sanibel? maybe a cruise? There are some really good deals available in Feb. Also, early March will mean some Spring Break families in Florida- you can expect to pay some $$$ pretty much wherever you go. By Feb, it's usually pretty warm down there, but there's an occasional "surprise" cold front.
