Manta Ray Snorkel

I am wondering if anyone has any info on the Manta Ray Dive/Snorkel boats. My sister and I are certified divers but our parents (both in good shape)are not. I was wondering if there is much for the snorkelers to see while we are diving. Is there any way they would they be able to do this as their "introductory dive" (without certification). Also, can anyone tell me if they have any opinions on the following outfitters: Manta Ray Divers, Kona Coast Divers. Other options? Thanks in advance for all info!

We are planning on doing this excursion on our trip in October, and have booked with Big Island Divers, based on recommendations from friends who have done the trip. All emails that I have sent to this company have been promptly replied, with great detail. My husband dives, and I do not. We plan on doing the trip as snorkellers, which is what our friends did. I hope this helps.

My husband and son snorkled with Manta Ray Divers on the night Manta Ray trip out of Kona last year and loved it. They were totally satisfied with snorkling and were visited by a hugh Manta Ray. My husband had lots of good things to say about Manta Ray Divers. They have a little shop on Ali'i Drive in Kona where we booked the trip from. Have a great time.

Reply to pinnacle and GloriaE,
Curious if you have seen any sharks on these manta ray dive/snorkel trips?

My husband and son did not see any sharks on the Manta Ray Snorkle. I, personally, stay out of the ocean in the dark . . . (can you hear the "Jaws" theme playing??)

We booked in person, but you may be able to get to them through this web site: http://www.hawaiidiscount.com/big%20...rsofHawaii.asp

We got their name out of the "This Week" in Hawaii that we picked up at the airport, which has coupons for activities.

The company is actually called Rainbow Diver, but they are also known as Manta Ray Divers. Here's their Web address:
http://www.mantaraydiveshawaii.com/.

Have fun!
