Manhatten to Westbury
Hi- We are visitng The Space at Westbury for a concert at the end of April. Show starts at 8.00 pm and I presume will finish late, probably 11.00 - 12.00 pm. I wanted to ask how safe it will be to travel to Westbury from Manhatten and specifically travelling back at night from Westbury to Manhatten. I looked on line and believe the MTA goes from Manhatten to Westbury and back, ravel time around 40 minutes. The taxi seems to be very expensive.
please advise if taking the train that time of the night back from Westbury will be safe?

Convenient? Depends on the actual schedules. There will not be many trains back to Manhattan at that time of day. There are several Long Island RR lines you could take - that 1st mile from the Space to the right station you’d also have to figure out.

I agree with J62. I do want to point out that the LIRR now has 2 points of origin in Manhattan: one is Penn Station (West 33rd St between 7th & 8th Avenues), the other is Grand Central Madison (under Grand Central Terminal East 42nd St & Park Avenue). It is important that when you check the timetables to see where that particular train leave from in Manhattan (and vice versa for the return trip). You may have to transfer to another train at Jamaica to get to Westbury (or during the return trip).
Enjoy the concert.
Enjoy the concert.
