Shelbourne vs. Westbury- Dublin

As a follow up to my last message... Can anyone please tell me which of these hotels is better. There is only a $20 rate difference. Please help. I want to be close to everything.

It is a toss-up between two five star hotels. The Shelbourne is the stately grand dame of Dublin Hotels (ie NY Waldorf, LA's Biltmore etc.) situated on the east end of St Stephens Green. It has the popular Horseshoe Bar and some great restaurants. The Westbury is a modern luxurious hotel with a great location on grafton Street nearer to Temple bar and great shopping. It was voted one of the top hotels in the world.

I probably would go with the Shelbourne because of the history and old world charm but others I know would say the Westbury with all modern conviences etc.

Either way you can't go wrong.
