Manhattan vacation rentals

I've researched thoroughly short-term vacation rentals in Manhattan for Christmas and I see a decent place will cost about $2400 a week. This is a 2 bedroom/2 bath spacious place in midtown east or upper east side.

I'm not sure if that's a question or not. The price seems very reasonable for that time of year - it wold translate to getting a suite hotel for $171 per room a night - a very good deal for the holidays.

Patrick has experience researching and booking vacation rentals, maybe he can offer additional advice?

We'll be doing a one week rental -- but just a one bedroom the first week of June. After a lot of research and having trouble finding many places that would book much ahead of time (they want longer rentals than a week), we went with nyhabitat.com, recommended by others here.

I have to say that about $340 a night for a full two bedroom apartment sounds very good. It's hard to find a decent hotel room for two people at that time of year for that!

I don't know what your question is and I don't follow nytraveler's math. (I don't think you can equate 2 one bedroom suites with one 2 bedroom apt either in space, privacy or hotel amentities).

Well - I disagree on the space/privacy. They didn;t mention that they're strangers and need privacy - I assumed it's some sort of family/close friends group.

As for space they have two bedrooms, two baths (double what you get in a typcial suite hotel room) and a living room which would be at least as large and probably larger than what you get in the "suite" hotels. You also get the money saving and convenience benefits of at least a small kitchen.

No - you don;t get full hotel services. But the OP doesn;t mention comparison to hotel services - I was just talking space/price.

Perhaps if the OP would clarify her question we could give her further info or other suggestions.
