Mangosteen Fruit

This may be a bit off topic but I have recently heard of the wondrous health effects of this fruit from Southeast Asia.

In the USA the only way to get it is by buying Xango Fruit Juice from an authorized agent, it is not available anywhere else.

Has anyone had any experience with this?

I noticed that Costco stores and website are offering some sort of mangosteen products. www.costco.com

I don't know about the health benefits, but I did find the fruit to be pretty interesting when I tried it in Asia

i've tried it, don't know if it really works as you need to take it for a long time to get results and it is expensive. tastes good though, better than the noni juice they sell here in Hawaii which supposedly has the same health benefits as mangosteen.

Interestingly - the only time I've seen/eaten mangosteens was in London. Saw them in a couple of green grocers and even Harrod's food halls. Yummy.

My secretary recently became a selling agent and I am now on my 3rd bottle -- it is expensive, taste delicious, we'll see if there is a health benefit.
Her family has seen wonderful results from clear glowing complexion, to bone pain going away -- more energy --

Anyone that has a diet that is deficient in fresh fruit will profit by the Fruit Juice. There's no doubt about that. They would probably do just as well, have clearer complexions, fewer aches, etc. if they increase their intake of orange juice and apples.

Just about all of us would do better with more fresh fruit.

However, if you can afford it, there certainly won't do you any harm.

What a waste of this wonderful fruit by drinking it! It's very tasty when eating fresh. I sought them out in a Chinese market on my recent trip to Vancouver. Yummy but very expensive here--like $2 for one the size of a small tangerine.

I keep hearing rumors of fresh mangosteens available in NYC Chinatown but have not seen any yet; I believe it may be illegal to import them from SE Asia to the US for some reason. They are truly a wonderful fruit!
