Malibu is Burning Again

Here it goes again. We are watching the DC-10 soar over the area dumping anti-burn gel.

I was supposed to meet a friend who lives in Malibu for lunch today and he doesn't answer the phone. I hope he and his dogs are ok. If I know him he is most likely helping evacuees.

Hi SeaUrchin, I saw this when I woke up this morning. It broke my heart! And again, the Santa Ana winds are blowing just like last month. A nightmare SeaUrchin. I sure hope your friend and his dogs are all right. The last I read they thought 20 houses had already burned down to the ground and that flames had jumped the PCH. Absolutely unbelievable!

I am wondering if this is arson? Makes me sick. Las Vegas had 40mph winds yesterday, when I woke I thought it was probably hitting SO CA too.

Oh no! This is awful news to hear.

My parents live in Torrance, so I just called them. They said the firefighters have been on alert for several days. Coral Canyon is the main fire area, so says Dad.

Unbelievably sad.

Holding good thoughts for your friend and his dogs.

The SF Chron now states that 35 houses have burned to the ground. Terrible! The article also said Arsonist experts are checking into the possibility this was started by an arsonist.
