We stayed at the Bay View and it is basically a small, deluxe "motel on the beach". Two stories of rooms in a row, shared balconies, well-kept and nice but not really an "inn" with atmosphere, grounds etc. Very small swimming pool and not walkable to much other than the ferry & surrounding motels.
I would stay there again, but if I remember correctly the BlueNose was much more "upscale".

My husband and I just returned Saturday from a week long trip in Maine and we stayed one night at the Bar Harbor Inn. I was very impressed! I had read a couple unsavory things about Harborside on this site and another site and decided against staying there. I remember someone posting that they were doing some construction around the Harborside & I did notice this, but it didn't seem to be anything major. I really liked the locale of the Bar Harbor Inn - really close to all the shops and restaurants. The room itself was beautiful. We didn't eat at the restaurant on site, but heard from other guests that it was wonderful food. Hope this helps you! I would definitely visit Bar Harbor again and stay at the Bar Harbor Inn.

Thanks for your reply, Buffy9297! Bet you had a great time in Bar Harbor! I'm thinkingfrom your post that you stayed at the Bar Harbor Inn?? I was looking at the Bar Harbor Hotel/Blue Nose Inn. Very confusing! Now I am wondering if I should check out the Bar Harbor Inn? Sounds like it worked well for you!

Yeah - it seems like there are tons of places to stay there all with the name "Bar Harbor" in them, but this is the website for the place we stayed:
