I am looking to book a hotel for a few nights in NYC in a few weeks. I have stumbled upon a discounter named Magellan. Has anyone had any experience with using them? Their rates seem pretty competitive and I want to know if you have an opinion on them.

Sorry, but I've never heard of this company. A reliable discounter for luxury hotels is Jetsetter.com and, of course, Hotels.com.

Never heard of them. Have you googled? Looked at tripadvisor.com for reviews. Do they have a real physical address and phone number land line? Have you looked at all the small type to understand all the conditions of the offer?

We use search engines but always book directly with hotels, which will generally match the price offered by any legitimate discounter.
