Lydia Shire's Blue Sky in York, Maine

Hi all,

Just wanted to report that I've had two great meals at Lydia Shire's new restaurant Blue Sky in York, Maine. The decor is gorgeous and service was great. The menu is varied with hearth cooked options and a good choice of fish, poultry, and meats.

Many deep fried options, from lobster to dauphines to dough-nuts! I especially enjoyed the fried sole basket and the pommegranite duck. The spicy ground lamb pizza is out of this world!

It is getting busier there all the time, and I bet it will be impossible to get in come summer. But for now, it's a great option for the limited places open in southern Maine.
Enjoy!

Thanks Dreamer! I didn't know she had opened a restaurant in York. I'm from Portsmouth so I'm often up that way, I'll have to check it out!

Dreamer, where in York is it?

I go to York in the summer. My Grandparents use to own a home on Nubble Road on long sands.

It's right across the street from the Goldenrod. Used to be an arcade, I think. Wait until you see how it's renovated!

FYI

Glad to hear you loved it Dreamer2, perhaps they have gotten over the bumps.

I postponed an overnight visit to Maine to check the restaurant out after reading many negative thought at chowhound.com

Hope things are looking up, as I love a good drive and destination restaurant.

For now I'll pass.
