Luxury Boston Hotel

Hi! I live in the Boston area and am very familiar with the surroundings but am trying to plan an anniversary get away weekend for me and my husband. I am currently trying to decide between the Fairmont Copley Plaza, the Taj Boston, and the Charlesmark Hotel but are open to other suggestions. Have no idea which one is the nicest...appreciate any help!

We just stayed at the Boston Park Plaza, on the concierge level. It's nice to get the personal treatment they provide there. A concierge desk is staffed on that floor, plus there's a very nice wood-panelled lounge room where they provide a great breakfast buffet. And in the evenings from 5 till 8 they put out a very good hot and cold hors d'oeuvres (even little desserts) spread. It can be a meal, if you aren't famished.

It's the 17th floor, with a dedicated express elevator. The rooms are nice, but not huge. Bathrooms are marble tiled, only with one pedestal sink, though. The service is great.

P.S. Forgot to say they also have turn-down service, which is like having your room done twice a day. They provide nice free water bottles daily, and the rooms have little refrigerators, too.

The Charlesmark is nice but I wouldn't necessarily call it luxurious.

I think the Fairmont would be a good choice. You may also want to check out the Four Seasons. If you like smaller boutique hotels, take a look at Nine Zero or XV Beacon.

The new Intercontinental probably has some very nice rooms too.

Sharla-I am a huge Charlesmark fan, but I would agree that it is not in the Luxury range. The rooms are small and the bathrooms smaller! The location is fabulous and the rates can't be beat. Not a place that I would spend lots of time in my room, but a great launching pad into the city. Congrats to you!
