We have some great packages from the UK to Boston, not sure of hotels, Omni Parker, Radisson, Wyndham, Colonnade, Swisshotel Boston Park Plaza, any advice much appreciated on these hotels so we can make a choice.

I've stayed at the Colonade. Modern decor , rubber duckies in the bathtub (cute) and umbrellas in the closet (will come in handy in Feb). I enjoyed our stay there. Its directly across the street from the Prudential Center and walking distance to South End, Back Bay/Newbury Street and Symphony Hall. Short subway ride to Museum of Fine Arts and Gardener Museum. Omni Parker House is closer to Faniuel Hall/Quincy, more Boston feeling than the Colonade. Older hotel with small rooms, recently renovated. Boston Park Plaza is in a great location, its a large older hotel - some have complained that it needs updating. I don't know enough about the others to comment. Enjoy your trip to our city.

I wouldn't stay at the Swisshotel. Not the best location. The Omni Parker is a decent hotel in a good location. It would be my first choice. Have a great time in Boston.

We stayed at all these hotels. All are nicely located, all depending upon where you plan to spend your time - no matter, there's a subway station within a short distance of each. We love the Omni Parker House, though rooms are typically quite compact. It's a short walk to Faneuil Hall/Quincy Marketplace, but a long stroll to Copley Square/Back Bay. Advantage: "Last Hurrah" lounge open late with extensive, reasonably priced, menu." The Wyndham is almost brand new, and rooms are compact here as well. It's not really a convenient walk from anywhere, it's right next to a hospital (think sirens during the night), and the nearby subway stop requires changing one or twice to get to where you're going. Restaurant and lounge are more an afterthough. Nice enough place to stay for a rock-bottom rate. The Colonnade is very nice - sprawling rooms, nice restaurant and cocktail lounge within, close to two indoor malls (both with an array of good dining choices), with a subway stop nearby. The Park Plaza is fantastically located, but is, to be kind, old and worn, though chock full of vintage charm. If you wind up there, and your room is less than appealing (possibilies include shabby decor, less than adequate plumbing, etc.), you must gently demand a better room (and you'll most likely get a far better one in February). The Swissotel is our third favorite hotel in Boston. Rooms are magnificent, service is terrific, restaurant and lounge within are excellent. (If you're smokers, this is your place.) Location is just fine (some will tell you it's not). We've stayed there many times, at ridiculously low rates, with Priceline. Our second favorite hotel in the (especially in the wintertime)is the Sheraton, which we've gotten ridiculously low rates for with Hotwire. It's connected to the Prudential Center (chock full of wonderful shopping and dining), though which you can walk to get to Copley Square (just about anyway). Our very favorite hotel in Boston is Le Meridien. While not the very best (for walking to and from your destinations) location (in the financial district, which is quiet, read dead, at night and on weekends), this place is magnificent in every other way. Awesome rooms, service, restaurants and cocktail lounge within. Weekends, there is complimentary limo service to your destination. Excellent internet rates, and we've stayed there for as low as $105/night with Hotwire (4-1/2* financial district, but no guarantees). The Radisson has nothing particularly objectionable, nor anything particularly appealing.

If you're confined to the choices you've mentioned, I'd pick the one with the lowest rate - the savings will cover any taxis to dining/sightseeing destinations. All are just fine for sleeping (with the possible need to holler at the Park Plaza).

I have just got back to UK from Boston. I can't comment on the hotels you specify. I stayed at the Sheraton in Back Bay which is a good hotel in an ideal location. I got this for $76 a night including taxes through Hotwire, which rates the Sheraton as a 4 star. I think anywhere in the Back Bay area would be okay so you may want to think about trying Hotwire or Priceline for a good deal.
