I've never been to Evan's - maybe next time. We had lunch yesterday at Gar Woods. It was good. I had a very substantial Cobb Salad, but the shrimp Louis, which came with bay shrimp and prawns looked delicious. (We had a little incident with a bunch of drunks at the next table....hope that wasn't you )

Haha! Not this time! There was no bunch, just two away for the weekend, sans kids to celebrate 27 years! Yikes where did the time go!

Sorry, Betsy, this is OT - Suzie, we "celebrated" 35 years in August. I put celebrated in quotes because we were on a trip to Egypt and other places, but on our actual anniversary, my daughter and I were in Madrid, and my husband was diving in Sharm El Sheikh with our son, his girlfriend and their friend!

So I guess I know how you answered/would answer that question in the lounge about whethery ou'd ever travel without your SO!

About Rainbow Lodge... that's too bad Kal. Took my mom there for her birthday dinner and it was really wonderful. The staff was great and tried hard to accomodate picky eater children.

I'm voting for Moody's now.

Suzie, was that directed to me (about traveling without my SO)? I don't remember replying to that question in the lounge, BUT, this actually was the first time we've ever been in different locations (out of the US) at the same time. I don't dive The USA is another matter ---

Our tradtional lunch stop has usually been Awful Annie's in Auburn, in Old Town. (although we haven't been in a couple years - hope it's still there and still good)

Awful Annie's is ok. We roasted there on a recent evening. Not sure they have good air conditioning. Food was decent and service was good.

Better is the new brew pub called Auburn Ale House which shares the parking lot with Awful Annie's.

We sometimes drive up from the Bay Area and stay in Auburn on a Friday night and then continue to Tahoe early Saturday, so this is good to know.

We've been to the one in Lincoln and it was very good.
