Lunch in/near Fredericksburg, VA?
We'll be driving from Richmond on I-95 to Fredericksburg and will probably be somewhere around Fredericksburg at lunch time. We'll be continuing on Rte 17 to Fauquier County. Would appreciate any suggestions for a casual lunch off I-95 or 17. We want to avoid fast food.

My first choice is closer to Richmond than you probably prefer -- Homemades by Suzanne in "downtown" Ashland. It's about 5 minutes off of I95 exit 92. It's an old fashioned lunch room with some awesome desserts. Very southern.
You might take a look at the Mason Dixon Cafe in F/burg which is about 10 minutes off of 95. Burgers, sandwiches, all day breakfast. Busy on weekends. If you're a fan of BBQ, F/burg has two places that are the real deal: Allmans and McCoys.
