Louisville

We are on our way to the Derby Festival this week in Louisville. We have planned for tours of bourban distillaries, the Ali museum, Churchill Downs and a few other odds and ends. We are eating at Proof on Main and Jeff Ruby's Steak House. We would love any other suggestions (must do's). We are staying at the Galt House and would like to stay in that area for food at night. Thanks in advance!

East Market Street has several restaurants. Look at 732 Social or the Mayan Gypsy. Vicenzo's Italian Restaurant on Fifth Street is wonderful, and The Old Spaghetti Factory on West Market is good.

Hope you enjoy your stay and win some money at the races.

We liked the Louisville Slugger baseball factory and Phillip Morris--but we like industrial tours.

We ate at places called the Old Spaghetti Factory in a couple of cities when we travelled with our children--IIRC, they were low end chains with so-so food.

For a baseball fan, the Louisville Slugger Museum and factory is a must. It's well done and interesting.
