Louisiana Hotel Questions

We will be staying in a number of different towns in LA, and wondered if you have any preferences or other suggestions.

In New Orleans
Royal Sonesta
Monteleone

In or near Lafayette
Cajun Country Cottages

Baton Rouge
Double Tree
Ramada

And near or in Covington or Mandeville
Marvilla B & B

Thank you in advance.

The Monteleone is lovely if you can afford it.

We really like Omni Royal Orleans, good deal, small room, great location.

Thank you. The prices for the Monteleone for March were reasonable.

Haven't stayed, but visited the Moneleone a few years ago in March, and noted that the pool was hot hot hot! No refreshing plunge. In case that's important, I would inquire.

Maybe if I was David Johansen it would matter. Insert smiley face.

I don't think Southerners do refreshing pools.

The pool at our condo in Naples Florida was heated to 82 or so in the winter and cooled to 82 in the summer. Isn't that cool enough?

We just stayed at the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans at Christmas, and got a very good rate. Fantastic service, and liked that while the decor certainly had that NoLa/French influence, it was not overwhelming and didn't feel old/stuffy. Great spa as well. Liked that it was on Canal and very easy to walk to the French Quarter as well as get a cab or streetcar to Garden District.
