Looking for a nice restaurant in Conway, SC
I have a friend who is relocating to Conway and would like to get him and his new wife a gift certificate to a nice restaurant in the area. I need something that has alternatives to seafood. Thanks!

My brother lives in Conway, and I could check with him, but I believe most of the really nice restaurants are in Myrtle Beach area, about 10-15 miles from Conway, or do you want to stick with just Conway?
Beach Dweller and GoTravel could probably also help you. How much do you want to spend?
Do a search on -- Myrtle Beach -- lots of restaurant threads.

Sorry to jump on the Myrtle Beach bandwagon, but if you give them a MB gift certificate, http://www.restaurant.com/ has discounted gift certificates for the area. The "fine print" is generally very reasonable and I've used them for years.

If you desire an alternative to a gc for a restaurant check out tickets to one of the shows in MB. They are plentiful and very good entertainment.
We were down over Easter and went to LaGrande Cirque at The Palace Theater. The show was excellent. There's also Alabama Theater, Dixie Stampede, Carolina Opry, House of Blues and others.
The QVC outlet has closed so I won't be wearing any more "jewels" from there!

I just ordered gift certificates for Carolina Opry, which can be used at any of their three shows. I would also like to get them a gift cert for a restaurant (it can be in Myrtle Beach) that has something in addition to seafood (since one of them will eat it and one does not). Probably look for a cert around $50.00...(they don't drink). Any ideas of a restaurant that you enjoyed....Thanks!!

You've gotten some good suggestions about restaurants in MB,
But if you want to stick to your original plan and get a gift certificate to a great restaurant in Conway, here it is . . .
Rivertown Bistro. It's a fantastic restaurant in town, elegant without seeming pretentious, great service, creative, well-prepared food. IMO, there are only a handful of MB-area restaurants that are better. For instance, I think it is on par with Thoroughbreds (which I love), different but on par with.
Here's the link:

I've also had some great lunches at The Sidewheeler (porch overlooks the Waccamaw River, so it's very scenic), but friends and Conway locals seem to think it is less reliable than Rivertown Bistro. I agree with them that Rivertown has a little better service, and is definitely consistent with great food quality.
Bon Appetit!
