Looking for a great hotel near the Holocaust Museum

I am looking for hotels (mid to high end) near the Holocaust Museum, which I believe is the "Smithsonian" area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

There are the Station Masters maps for nearby Metro stations. You can look on there to see if there are any hotels.

Appears thast it wouled be Mandarin Oriental or Loews. They are both pretty high end but they're also kind of one slide over removed from much of the action around downtown DC.

If you don't "need" to be in that area you could be better served at the J W marriott on Pennsylvania Ave or any of the nice hotels up at Dupont.

Mandarin is for you -- very high end and the closest to the Holocaust Museum, but it is also the major downtown hotel least convienent for everything else most visitors want to see in Washington.

The Willard is high end (across the street from the JW) and not a bad walk to the Holocaust Museum.

But for just high-end and close, the Mandarin is the best. Boring area with little strolling/dining/shopping options, however.

Is there some reason why you have to stay near the Holocaust Museum? You can stay anywhere in DC and simply take a taxi right to the museum on the day of your visit. It's not at all hard to get around DC.

Yep...I'm with Doug.

Was there in summer of '07. Stayed near roslyn station in VA and easily got to all the attractions including Holocaust Museum on the Metro. Quick, cheap (OK, reasonable), easy.
