Cafe Pescatore at the Tuscan Inn near FishWharf.
Some of our FFFs I believe spoke highly of Pesce on Polk but the $$$ may be a bit more than your range. Ditto Cortes.
The other informal places in The Ferry Market Place are Taylor's Refresher and SF Fish Company.
I mention Taylor's only because of their "Ahi Burger". Muy ono!
At the SF Fish Co. you can buy all sorts of prepared seafoods and take it outside and watch all the boats or go down a few doors to the Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant and get a bottle to go with what you're having and watch the tourists walk by. www.sanfranfishco.com/_wsn/page2.html

Thanks everyone for your replies, decided on Yabbie's and have made reservations for one evening along with Trattoria Contadina for another. Two months ago called and got res. for Gary Danko's which will be the highlight of our trip, can't wait!!
