Hello everyone - I am traveling to Boston in June and am looking for a relatively inexpensive hotel($125-150) in a safe neighborhood near a T stop. Being near a T-stop is important since my mother can't get around too easily anymore. We are planning to spend 2 days touring the spots in Boston, one day in Lexington/Concord, and one day in Plymouth. Thanks in advance for your time and suggestions.

Look into the Boston Park Plaza Hotel. Great location, right on the T-stop. They have many specials on the internet and thru expedia, etc. Very large, have a ton of rooms, Legal Seafood on the premisis......Check it out!

You might look into the Sheraton or Hilton in Back Bay. They are both across the street from each other. There's a T-stop at the Hynes Convention Center.

By the way, the concierge at the Hilton is excellent, especially if you want to make reservations for tours to Lexington/Concord, and Plymouth. I also believe that the Hilton runs a shuttle service in case you want to take the Beantown Trolley Tour. The Duck Tour operates from the front of the Prudential, which is only a block from both the Sheraton and Hilton.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Brookline last summer which is in a good neighborhood and right across the street from a T-stop. Not in the heart of downtown but a quick ride into downtown. Decent hotel. I imagine $125 would be doable there, perhaps a lot less (I used Priceline and paid $55 but you can't guarantee you'll get the same hotel.)

the holiday inn Brookline would be a good choice, it is in a very nice neighborhood with more restaurants than you can possibly eat in. and the T is out the front door. It is approx. 5 minute T ride from the holiday inn to kenmore and maybe another 10 to govt center. very convenient, very safe, very nice, very affordable. While in Brookline eat at the following: Golden Temple (chinese, Washington Square), Anna's Taqueria (carnitas burrito, cheap lunch, coolidge corner), Tapas (forgot the name St. Mary's T stop), Fresh city wraps (smoothies and wraps, cheap, coolidge corner), Fiorentina (name? little italian take out, coolidge corner), B&D deli (especially breakfast, washington square).....and don't forget the North end for Italian.

You didn't say whether or not you would be arriving by car.

If so, you should be aware that parking at this hotel is $12 a night and overnight street parking in Brookline is forbidden.

This is hotel is in a great neighborhood and is about 50 yrs old.

Book the city dates on the weekend for (usually) much better rates. Stay away from school graduation weekends, however.

Right now you can get a room for $139 there; not sure if that's still available in June when things get really busy in Boston. The "Nine Zero" caters more to business traveler, but it is centrally located and close to the MBTA.
