London Pass???

My wife and I are spending 2 days sightseeing in London. I have heard of the London pass. Is it really as good as it proclaims? Do different companies sell this and if so is there one company that sells a better version than another? It sounds like a good idea but is it really worth it? Are the lines really that long at the major attractions and are the prices really that outrageous that spending close to 100US dollars now saves us from spending more while there?
Any help is appreciated...

You'd probably get more help with this on the Europe board.

As CAPH pointed out, yu'll get better answers on the Europe board. But as long as you're here, I'll mention that my answer to each of your 4 questions is: No.

It depends on your individual interests and itinerary, of course, but since most of the museums are free and you can get cheap all-day tube passes at any station, it's unlikely to be a good value.

This sounds like outrageous price to me. We even found all-day Tube passes sold after 9:30 AM to be really inexpensive.

And if you only have 2 days, why not pay less than the $100 for one of the hop-on hop-off bus things (we did "The Big Bus) and get efficient transportation to everything you would be likely to see.

We were in London in April - only line we encountered was for Tower of London, and that was our least favorite place.

Um, gail, the London Pass isn't just transportation. It includes admission to dozens of places (like the Tower) that DO charge admission, giving hte advantage of jumping any lines, plus discounts at restaruants, stores, movie theaters, etc.

mdejon42 realized his/her mistake and did post this on the Europe board 2 minutes after posting this one here. Maybe it's good to check on that before replying and therefore topping the post.
