Logan to Westin Waterfront Transportation
I am looking for information on transportation from Logan International to The Westin Waterfront Hotel. I will be arriving on Oct 7 for an overnight stay before a cruise beginning the next day. I have read of several options to get from the airport to the hotel to include Silver Line Bus, taxi, and shared van service. What are your opinions?
I'm not so sure on the Silver Line Bus because I'll have one large bag and a carryon and I'm not sure I want to walk a block from the silver line terminal to the hotel lugging all that stuff around (especially if it was raining on arrival). And does the Silver Line even have a way to accomodate my luggage? I read that a taxi will cost aproximately 20 bucks and the shared van about 10 bucks, but I have yet to find a shared van service at that price. Can anyone give me the name of a shared van service at that price?

The Silver Line is basically is bendy-bus, and it comes equipped with lots of luggage racks. Basically, you have to lift your luggage up ONE step from curbside to the bus, then put it on the luggage rack. If the bus is not that crowded, you can easily leave your luggage on the lower level of the luggage rack (no lifting required). The cost of Silver Line is $2pp.
I'm a local and I use the Silver Line for almost all my trips to Logan. I do travel light so luggage is never an issue for me on the Silver Line.
I do not think taxi will be that expensive. My guess is probably $15-20 to the Westin.

On no account a shared van.
I would do what yk does, but if you don't want to ride the Silver Line, and you might well not if it is raining, then you can take a taxi at the last minute. You don't have to reserve either.
Have you asked the hotel if they have a van?

Thank you both for your replies. I had already checked with the Westin and they do not have a shuttle to the airport.
I'll probably just opt for the taxi. Depends on how light I can get my luggage. If light enough then I'll do the Silver Line.

I think you could also take a water taxi. I'm not an expert though, and have never done it. But it would be more fun.

I don't think the water taxi would be a good option for OP. Westin Waterfront isn't exactly ON the water; it's a good 2-3 blocks from the water, and I'm not sure how far is the dock for water taxi. If the OP is leery about walking 1 block w/luggage from the Silver Line stop to the Westin, it'll definitely be an even longer ride from the water taxi dock to the Westin.
Edit to add after looking at the map: [I suppose the closest dock would be at the cruise terminal; but that's still a farther walk than from the Silver Line station.]
