Lodging -one night- in Fort Lauderdale
My wife and I need a room for just one night before we fly out of Fort Lauderdale. We would like a clean, comfortable and quiet place in a good neighborhood within ten miles of the airport. This will be in March. There are so many options that it is hard to decide. Any good experiences? Thanks.

There are quite a number of nice places along 17th Street towards the Causeway. These include a Marriott, a Renaissance, an Embassy Suites, and Hyatt Pier 66.
I also like the Riverside Hotel right on Las Olas with plenty of "entertainment" and restuarants and a pleasant strolling area.

Ft. Lauderdale Priceline market is excellent. Do that or www.hotwire.com for 4 star.
I got the Renaissance for so little that I was shocked in Feb. 2005.
I think the Marriott Marina was a nice place too. It was right on the water taxi and you could go/see a lot in a very short time, if you had the druthers. We liked sitting at the outside veranda there and watching the big ships and the private masted beauties come in and out. We watched Donatella Versace's crew cleaning her beauty worth 23 million. LOL!
